Watching the Cubs, and the fans in attendance, choke is hard to take. Surprisingly Zambrano threw a very good game but got no help from the rest of the team. Every Cub infielder made an error ( I consider Theriot's bare hand feeble attempt an error, the announcers on TV even thought he should have used his glove hand) and there was no sign of wanting to compete from any of the Cubs with the exception of Zambrano.
The fans even act scared. On Wednesday night the announcers on television picked up on it early in the game. The crowd acted the same way in last nights debacle. As you go through the Cubs lineup you see playoff experience to some degree, but that experience is in losing. With the exception of Derrek Lee and maybe Ted Lilly, the players have only experienced losing in post season play. It is time to re-tool. We need new ownership, a new ball park, new players, and anything else I can think of, new. I'm tired of the same old choke job year after year. I am also tired of the canned response when someone asks anyone in the Cub organization if they think the "curse" affects the players. The answer is something like, the players aren't even aware of it. That is the root of the problem. Admit there is some extra pressure, but rise to the occasion. Quit acting like ostriches and pretending that extra pressure does not exist. Boy I wish we had Manny! Go Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks ( I guess the White Sox too!).
